6 Things I Learned on my Journey to Healthy

Thirty-three days before my 33th birthday, I challenged myself to lose a combination of 33 pounds/inches. I didn’t meet my goal, but I can say that I sure tried! Along the way, this journey taught me 6 things listed below:

  1. Stopping and restarting in my workout/health journey was a drain. Consistency is key…
  2. Working out and eating healthy is difficult in the moment, and I hate it at times, but in the end it’s good for me..
  3. The more I put in the work, the more my body gets used to it and starts to crave it..
  4. Water is everything! I’m still trying to get to a gallon a day (I’m still at about 2 bottles of water per day- pray for me ya’ll)
  5. Even if I failed one day, I can start over and keep pushing and progressing. Every step towards progress COUNTS!
  6. I have a habit of overexerting myself, but I am learning how important it is to listen to my body and take it one day at a time.

In the end, my goal is to apply what I am learning on this journey to my spiritual life, consistently praying, fasting, reading the Word of God and communicating with Him about EVERYTHING. Sometimes I may not feel like it. At times I don’t want to fast because I want to eat what I want when I want to eat it. It takes sacrifice and consistency to be where God is calling me to be with Him, and He’s more than worth it.

The More I Put in the Work…

The more I put in the work, the more my heart will desire Him.. I will not only keep sugar out of my diet, but I will strive to keep laziness, complacency, fear, lack of discipline and self-control out of my spiritual diet as well. If I miss the mark, I won’t give up. I will continue to pursue God, give Him all the glory and praise, relinquish control and strive to live a life that is pleasing unto Him.

Are you trying to keep some things out of your physical and spiritual diet? If so, what are they? Let sit and chat!
